Frankenstein

A bundle of quotes from the timeless book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley..

They will probably make you experience a variety of different feelings..You choose the one(s) to focus your attention on, which also mostly depends on the present emotional state of you..This is the power of reading good works of literature..I mean when you are reading on a specific topic, you may get lost between the lines and get caught by a word, an expression or a sentence..I really love this feeling..

Besides, enjoy the photos I have taken lately while listening to a touchy piece of music by Coldplay..

“Nothing is more painful to the human mind than, after the feelings have been worked up by a quick succession of events, the dead calmness of inaction and certainty which follows and deprives the soul both of hope and fear.”
“When happy, inanimate nature had the power of bestowing on me the most delightful sensations.”
“I could not understand why men who knew all about good and evil could hate and kill each other.”

 tearing the clouds..

“...if I see but one smile on your lips when we meet, occasioned by this or any other exertion of mine, I shall need no other happiness.”
“ we couldn’t tear ourselves away from each other nor persuade ourselves to say the word “Farewell!”.

wish I was sailing away with you tonight..

“What can stop the determined heart and resolved will of man?”

“Nothing contributes so much to tranquillize the mind as a steady purpose- a point on which the soul can focus its intellectual eye”

foggy morning with the little sun up above in the sky..

"Be men, or be more than men. Be steady to your purposes and firm as a rock. This ice is not made of such stuff as your hearts may be; it is mutable and cannot withstand you if you say that it shall not."
“A mind of moderate capacity which closely pursues one study must infallibly arrive at great proficiency in that study.”
"I shall commit my thoughts to paper, it is true; but that is a poor medium for the communication of feeling. I desire the company of a man who could sympathize with me, whose eyes would reply to mine."

with a bit more focus in the sky.. hoping for the good days..

“...once I falsely hoped to meet the beings who, pardoning my outward form, would love me for the excellent qualities which I was capable of unfolding.”
“Why did I not die? More miserable than man ever was before, why did I not sink into forgetfulness and rest? Death snatches away many blooming children, the only hopes of their doting parents: how many brides and youthful lovers have been one day in the bloom of health and hope, and the next a prey for worms and the decay of the tomb! Of what materials was I made, that I could thus resist so many shocks, which, like the turning of the wheel, continually renewed the torture?

But I was doomed to live;”
“I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend. Make me happy, and I shall again be virtuous.”
“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.”
“He meant to please and he tormented me..”

Winter is Coming..

It has been quite a long autumn. Counting days passing does not help at all. When you are waiting for something or someone, life is not that easy. It has been raining a lot lately. According to the weather forecast it might snow soon. Well, it snows a lot here. I like it when it is pouring down and covering the ground as white and yet I hate it when it is so cold and no blanket helps when you terribly miss your loved ones. As the autumn is so hard to bear,  Let the winter go away quickly...

Winter is coming..

This photo was taken last winter on a very cold day. The winter was then so much enjoyable unlike this coming one. It was relaxing to watch snowflakes and taking a walk on the snow listening to the sound of the pieces of ice cracking under each step.

Here I've added a wonderful piece of music.
Enjoy the time you spend with your loved ones.
Never miss a second.

Finally, two absolutely meaningful quotes by Ernest Hemingway.

"My life used to be full of everything. Now if you aren't with me I haven't a thing in the world.”

“That night at the hotel, in our room with the long empty hall outside and our shoes outside the door, a thick carpet on the floor of the room, outside the windows the rain falling and in the room light and pleasant and cheerful, then the light out and it exciting with smooth sheets and the bed comfortable, feeling that we had come home, feeling no longer alone, waking in the night to find the other one there, and not gone away; all other things were unreal. We slept when we were tired and if we woke the other one woke too so one was not alone. Often a man wishes to be alone and a girl wishes to be alone too and if they love each other they are jealous of that in each other, but I can truly say we never felt that. We could feel alone when we were together, alone against the others ... But we were never lonely and never afraid when we were together. I know that the night is not the same as the day: that all things are different, that the things of the night cannot be explained in the day, because they do not then exist, and the night can be a dreadful time for lonely people once their loneliness has started. But with Catherine there was almost no difference in the night except that it was an even better time. If people bring so much courage to the world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.”

- Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms

London Motor Museum

London Motor Museum was a place which I had learned about by chance. While I was looking through the city guide, I saw the advert and then I checked the location of the museum. Yes, it was quite close to another place that I was going to visit during that day! My dear husband was also so happy to see this museum around because he's interested in cars a lot :)

The museum is located in Hayes&Harlington and it has got a great wide range of collection of both American and European classic cars and many other custom cars.

We had a marvellous time there, mostly amazed at the real wonderful fast cars, and the classical ones. I was glad to have a chance to photograph them as well. Here I add some of them. Enjoy your days!

Shiny disco car, muscular cars, flying doors and soft yellow seatings of a Rolls Royce

Delorean, the one in Back to the Future movie, and some other really interesting nice stuff :)

And
My favourite one!

Sadness

sunset, towards the dark night

Just a little bit sadness, sorrow and grief words with pieces of wonderful instrumental music..
Enjoy the melody and try to feel every word and every note deep inside your mind..

“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle.”
 Charles DickensGreat Expectations

“joy and sorrow are inseparable. . . together they come and when one sits alone with you . . remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.”                                                                                                                                  Kahlil Gibran

“No truth can cure the sadness we feel from losing a loved one. No truth, no sincerity, no strength, no kindness, can cure that sorrow. All we can do is see that sadness through to the end and learn something from it, but what we learn will be no help in facing the next sadness that comes to us without warning.”
Haruki MurakamiNorwegian Wood

"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. "

Around the River Thames

I took these photos on different days, from different angles. I really enjoyed walking around the River Thames and taking a bus tour around the city as there were many beautiful places to see and so I had a great deal of opportunities to take photos. Well, I'm quite an amateur at photography and I took photos by mobile phone, for now, but I take great pleasure by taking photos and manupulating them to achieve a little bit more attraction on them. :)

Well, enjoy the photos,of course, as you're listening to a good piece of music.

Angels by Robbie Williams!

London Eye, which I took a tour on, is one of my favourite attractions of London

This photo was taken during a bus tour
Big Ben

Congratulations!:)How lucky they are that they had their wedding photos taken right here in this amazing city!

My Trip to LONDON

My very first visit to London have made a great impression on me. It was quite hard to believe where I was standing for the first couple of hours. For also it was my unique dream to be in London, I was deeply amazed at the sights of the city. By every corner I stepped, I filled with excitement and pleasure.
I was on the seventh heaven all through my journey.

I'm so glad to meet you, London!! and Looking forward to visiting again!!

I'd like to share some of my shots from London streets where you can see a mixture of historical and modern buildings. It's a city that both protects its historical values, traditions and customs and also has developed into the modern world.

I've fallen in love with the architecture and the transportation. The nostalgic cabs, which are mostly black, and doubledeck red buses create a lively and different atmosphere in the city.

Want to know why the traffic keeps left? Here is the answer;

The British custom of keeping to the left had developed from jousting when competitors needed to keep their javelin or sword hand  free to meet the oncoming horseman. As most people were right-handed this meant passing each other on the left. The Continental custom of driving on the right was introduced by the Emperor Napoleon, who was left-handed. Since it was he who established the first road system across most of Europe, right-hand drive was adopted on the Continent.
Christopher Winn, I Never Knew About LONDON

Here are two songs: the first one is a song by Petula Clark, who is an English singer, actress and composer. The other one is the most famous London song of all, Waterloo Sunsent by The Kinks. While listening to these songs, you may have a look at the photos of London taken by my camera.

"The lights are much brighter there
you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares.."

My favourite, black cabs
The one with the classical color yellow cab

The original doubledeck bus

Normally there are new buses in the traffic but fortunately I found this one parked on a quiet street.

Trafalgar Square and National Museum in the background

History stands..

Love the purple lights in the evening..History stands..

Sufferings..

“Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape.” Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

This road is packed with memories..
the very small part of the city where my family come from..

All leavings and meetings..
Together with hope and desperation..

“She was a genius of sadness, immersing herself in it, separating its numerous strands, appreciating its subtle nuances. She was a prism through which sadness could be divided into its infinite spectrum.” Jonathan Safran Foer, Everything is Illuminated

"packing, unpacking what's in your suitcase,
go ahead and reach in and pull out a new face"
Living in Limbo by Jane Birkin

Listening to this song over and over again..

Each day sitting on a bench, watching the horizon, and reminiscing..

“but something always went wrong, and the relationship would end precisely at the moment when she was sure that this was the person with whom she wanted to spend the rest of her life. After a long time, she came to the conclusion that men brought only pain, frustration, suffering and a sense of time dragging.” Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes

Shadows of My Mind

"If faces were different when lit from above and below - what was a face? What was anything?"
         - W.Golding, The Lord of The Flies
Kadıköy/Istanbul

Things are out of control. Actions, behaviours, words, faces that are changing instantly lose their meaning. They continuously change. The change is spontaneous. When you deal from different perspectives, there exist different outcomes. There are always at least two different sides of things, namely events, actions, words etc.  If this is so, how one can believe in this or that one.

There is always one side staying in dark. There is always something one might not notice, which means being sure is not possible at all. One way or the other, the dark side remains. The unknown nature of it leads the dark to be frightening for people. Noone can be sure of things in darkness, whether it does bear good or evil.

"When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange

A little anxious when it's dark"

By a great photographer!

"A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective. "
-R.I.P., Irving Penn

You may read about Irving Penn briefly on the Telegraph.

Oh Love!

Autumn in Istanbul
Autumn in Istanbul

"There are several kinds of love. One is a selfish, mean, grasping, egotistical thing which uses love for self-importance. This is the ugly and crippling kind. The other is an outpouring of everything good in you — of kindness and consideration and respect — not only the social respect of manners but the greater respect which is recognition of another person as unique and valuable. The first kind can make you sick and small and weak but the second can release in you strength, and courage and goodness and even wisdom you didn’t know you had.
         ...
If you love someone — there is no possible harm in saying so — only you must remember that some people are very shy and sometimes the saying must take that shyness into consideration.
         ...
It sometimes happens that what you feel is not returned for one reason or another — but that does not make your feeling less valuable and good.
         ...
don’t worry about losing. If it is right, it happens — The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away. "
        - John Steinbeck

"In a Manner of speaking
I just want to say
That I could never forget the way
You told me everything
By saying nothing"

Love the sea and Love thee

The sunset in Kadıkoy/Istanbul

"How bitterly glad I am to see you. You bring joy and pain in equal measure. Joy because you are with me, but pain because it won't be for long. What do you know about the sea? Nothing. What do I know about the sea? Nothing. Without a driver this bus is lost. Our lives are over. Come aboard if your destination is oblivion-- It should be our next stop. We can sit together. You can have the window seat, if you want. But it's a sad view. Oh enough of this disembling. Let me say plainly: I love you, I love you, I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you. "
